Denistoun Street

I and a number of other local Denistoun residents have been after city hall for at least 5 to 7 years to have Denistoun Street resurfaced, new curbs for the entire length of the street, and poor sidewalks replaced. Over the past 2 months the street was finally cleaned up to what we asked.
over those many years.
I believe the true contributing factor in having this work done on the street was due to the street being named as one of the worst in Ontario by many of the residents in the densely populated Denistoun area. The voting was not packed, it was an accurate endeavor by all residents. The street eventaully made the top 10 list of the worst streets on Ontario.
The street is excellent due to the fine work of Brennen Paving and their very courteous workers.
Before the work was started on the street a petition circulated through out the entire densely populated Denistoun area requesting the city install proper signs and slight speed bumps to control the traffic. Denistoun Street is straight right from Lincoln to Main and with out those signs and speed bumps there is no doubt the street will turn into a speedway.
One must be made to understand Denistoun Street is a short cut to Main and is used by a variety of vehicles that endanger the lives of all of those children that live in the Denistoun housing sub division. We sincerely hope the city will listen to us and install the necessary safety equipment.
